My old Vovlo paint was oxidizing pretty seriously. I pulled into a local carwash just to get it cleaned (too busy this weekend to do it myself). Guy talked me into a full detail for $85. I figured it would be nice to see the metalflakes in my gunmetal gray paint again. heh. So I said yeah.

2 friggin hours later, the place is closing up and they finally give me my car back. Looks super shiny and good, but it's 7pm, and I really need to go. So I don't look it over real close. Give the guy the recipt and a $15 tip and bail.

I'm looking at my car yesterday and see some tree sap they left (!) as well as some not quite perfectly buffed spots. Sigh. Lots of wax left behind like around the windshield washer sprayers and such.

And, of course, I don't have a receipt since it was my claim ticket. Wonder if they did that on purpose?

That sucks, but I'd only get my car detailed if I initiated the transaction myself - I don't want to be talked into anything. Good luck getting it righted though.

I wasn't really talked into it... Just hadn't occurred to me. I was thinking of buffing it myself but there's no electrical outlets near where I can park to do it, so it never gets done. I happened to have the dosh at the moment because I sold some gear on eBay.

Dude, it was only $85, what kind of a detail do you expect? A *good* detail will run you at least $150 I'd say.

Bingo. And it would have taken longer than 2 hours.

$150 for a detail? Over 2 hours? Ouch!

I've never gotten one before, preferring to do it myself most of the time. But not having access to electricity in my carport (only shady space around) makes it difficult. Hand rubbing sucks. heh

That sucks. Besides the money issue, I don't let anybody wash/wax/detail my car but me. That way I know it's done the way I want it.
