YACT: Is it bad for your automatic transmission if...

you are on an incline and just allow gravity to offset the tendencies of automatic transmissions to move forward even when not pressing the accelerator? I know with manuals you will burn out your clutch if you rock back and forth on an incline but if you don't hold the brakes down on an auto and just let gravity offset the forward motion is it bad?

I can't understand from the overuse of run-on sentences.

lol, yeah the sentences are kinda long 😉.

aside from that, i THINK i know what you are trying to ask, and am curious myself...

If you're saying what I think you're trying to say, then no.. it's not bad.

I think I know what you're trying to say, but then again, I might not know, which would mean that what I think you're trying to say isn't really what you are trying to say, but I think I know what you are trying to say and I just need you to confirm that you know that I know what you are trying to say.

It isn't too bad for your tranny. Your torque converter will slip though. And if you do it at high enough speed, you'll kill the engine.

it's kinda fun to do, it's just like doing a mini stall test on your torque converter. since you are only being held up by friction of the fluid, it will heat up fast so don't stay there for too long.

it's the same thing as stopping at a light and having your foot on the brake. The engine tries to keep moving you foreward but the incline/brake holts the car in place.
