Whats your age, driving record, do you have any other policies with the agent, male/female?, did you take driver ed, do you qualify for good grade discount (if you're still in school), how many miles per year, how many miles per day, what kind of insurance do you want...just liability, collision, comprehensive, what deductables do you want.

I own 3 cars:

1991 Mazda protege
1999 Ford Mustang
2005 Ford Mustang GT

I have 2 life insurance policies and my home insurance and I pay maybe $300/month. All cars are fully insured with low deductables (except the Mazda), I am male @ 27 yrs.

I owned a red z24 cavy 96'. Full coverage it was $230 a month when I was 18. this was through state farm and with 20% deductions from drivers ed, good grades and a test that state farm had me take.

edit: I was on my parents insurance but i was a primary driver, they wouldn't let me be secondary. if at all possible try to be listed as a secondary driver or it will be more.

I would say put it in your mothers name and you be secondary driver....otherwise it'll be way too much for you.
