I installed 2 replacement springs (OEM) on the rear of my civic last night, since something was wrong with the original ones...

when i was done, the car appeared to be about 1-2 inches higher than it should be....

is this normal? do the springs need some time to settle in or did i do something wrong?

Maybe your old springs weren't OEM? Either that or they were cut by a previous owner or were so worn out they were just sagging severely.

they were a bit worn, that's why i replaced them.. but the new springs...if you match the car up w/ another civic you can definitely tell that its about 1-2 inches higher than it should be

springs will generally settle 0-1" .. if you are already accounting for the original ones sagging when you say 1-2", something is probably not right. Ramp it a couple times and see if that helps

Oh, then maybe they didn't seat quite right in the spring cups? I'd wait for it to settle though. I know even lowering springs need a bit of time to settle.
