I use the octane booster whenever I fill up at the pump and it works just as well.

I would say go for it, walmart/target/pepboys and any other automotive dept store sells it for less than $5.

Either use Chevron Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner or Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner. Both of them are loads better than STP, IMO. Redline can be had for about $4.50 for a bottle at NAPA. Chevron is about $6 for a 12oz bottle.

BG44K is good stuff, but beware! They have recently changed formulation on it! It is not the same stuff it used to be. It is also hard to find.

Ingredients of the OLD 44K:

BG44k is $20/can and one of the better cleaners. Of the lower ones chevron's techron concentrate is good. It's actually hard to find in chevron stations (they have STP normally), but walmart sells it.

pay out the butt for new injectors. once they suck, they suck when theyre hot even when theyre cleaned.

then again im used to CIS (mechanical injectors). EFI might be different

Yeah, but have you priced new injectors?
Try the techron first.
BTW, why do you think your injectors need cleaning? Not that they don't, but you could be asking about your lawnmower for all we know (yeah yeah lawnmowers use carbs - well maybe there's a Honda out there that doesn't)

GO buy some Lucas, Redline, or even Chevron with Techron.

Another vote for Lucas. Great stuff. I used to work at Advance, and people would buy it by the case. When it was out of stock (relatively often) people would wait and then come back and get it when it was back in, even though there was tons of other cleaners on the wall.

Only like $3 a bottle, too.

The stuff you buy over the counter, BG included, won't clean the injectors completely if your car has many miles on it.

The BG stuff is the best, but it's more of a PM type of thing.

You need to have your fuel system cleaned professionally. I don't care if it costs 60 bucks, which is pretty cheap actually.

The BG fuel induction kit that dealers use has separate cleaners for the intake, injectors, and also 44k for the tank.

To properly clean the injectors, a tech needs to use the BG injector cleaner along with 44k in the tank.

After you get the injectors cleaned properly, you can probably go to just the 44k in the tank on a regular basis and they'll stay clean.

Bottom line, take it to a pro.

hard starts (or won't start the first crank, have to stop, wait a second, try again; sometimes it sounds like it has caught and then stalls out), cheap gas

car has 34,000 miles on it

afaik, the place that offered just uses 3 different bottles of chemicals, i was wondering if i could just get those myself.
