YACT: Impala wont shift into drive

2002 Chevy Impala. 64K miles. 3.8 v6 with the 4-speed

when i turn the car on i can not get it to shift into drive. brake pedal depressed nothing.

jiggle the key a lil and it wont always do it, and if i mess with the gear shifter it sometimes will work but not always

what is the problem?

Highlighted your problem. (Actually, my '87 Voyager did that, too, towards the end of it's life. Was a dying trans)

Not familiar with the old Chevy, eh? I should grab an oldschool Impala SS and run you over with it.

Pray, hopefully it's something inexpensive to fix. I don't think it's too likely but if your transmission is shot you are looking at a lot of $$$.

So glad I got a manual transmission. 95k and still going. *knocks on wood*

What kind of piece of sh|t transmission dies after only 64k miles? What a disgrace.

The transmission on our 2003 Ford Focus fvcked up at 21,000. Hard shifts.

The transmission on our 1993 Chevy Van fvcked up at 132,000. Reverse quit working
