YACT: I think my auto insurance company is F'ing w/ me

I think that kind of premium is deserved for an 18 year old with three accidents and a DUI.

Me:
20, male, had license since 16, no moving violations, no at fault accidents(actually no accident whatsoever within the chargeable period for the state of OR), good student and have taken safety programs(driver's ed).

Coverage:
$1,000 deductible on comprehensive and collision.

F this insurance company. I got a quote for Statefarm and they're at least $1,000 less per year.

The old rate was $2,600 a year, but they decided to raise $713 for changing my *mailing address*.

This is a little unfair, not to mention wrong. Insurance rates vary depending on where you live so if your mailing address change implies you moved, even to a neighboring town (with a different zip code), they have every right to raise it.

State Farm is damn near impossible to beat. They're the only insurance company I've ever been happy with.
Their criteria is pretty lax, and the premiums are very fair.

You probably moved into a higher risk area and boom there goes your rate. Those are the breaks. Shop around though.

fixed for my experience...

Surprised nobody's mentioned Geico 😕

That rate is ridiculous, try progressive as mentioned before, maybe even the Auto Club (AAA), Mercury or Farmers.

Nine months out of the year, my car stays in rural town Corvallis OR. This company's address change is ass slow too. Requested *mailing address* change so the bill goes to home address regardless of which apartment I live in at college. Processing took months.

Progressive jacked up my premiums since I had gotten a ticket 2 years ago. I used insurance.com to get a quote from LibertyMutual which was about 25% cheaper.

Compare it to a free instant quote at esurance.

Esurance was the lowest for me also, tho I just moved to MA, and they dont cover here... nor does Progressive, or Geico, or State Farm... arg, so annoying.
