I would say stick to General Motors. Probably early 90's, something with a 3.1 or 3.8. Get one with the overdrive.

I had a 90 Lumina 3.1V6 and automatic overdrive. It was givin to me with 141,000 miles. I drove it for 3 years and it died with over 275,000 miles. I think I put an altanator and a battary in it while I had it. Well, plus the oil changes and tires and general maintenance stuff. It needs a head gasket and I figured i just as well get something different so i got a 92 Buick LeSabre Limited. So far it has been very reliable (except starter problems, found out it was corrosion on battery cables, this was after I put a new starter on it). I have put 26,000 miles on it over the past year and it has done pretty good so far.It has the 3.8 and overdrive. Some people can get 30mpg out of them, but mine stays at about 22-24mpg. Still not to bad.

No big deal, however, Im thinking about buying a used car that will work for the next two years. Theres no sense in buying a new car now when I'll be purchasing one in two years. Heres what I would like.....
*Something reliable.
*Something for I can buy for $1500.
I know $1500 wont get me much, but Im not looking for much except for used car that will run for 2 more years.
I like 5 spd manual, I like sunroofs, I like AWD........but they're not required.

Any suggestions...? Thanks.

I just got a car sunday. And it has everthing in your specifications except AWD. And I only paid (well my dad did) $750 then the extra $100 for all the tax and title transfer and plates crap. You shouldnt have a problem finding a car like that for $1500.

I remember posting to your thread about that.....It's probably gonna be Saturn or Dae Woo. They're really cheap, and you can find newer models with lower miles for cheaper prices.
