YACT: I got me a new 4Runner! My first SUV!

Just wanted to thank everyone who voted in this thread about which 4Runner I should get.

I got the 2003 Toyota 4Runner, Titantium Metallic (silver colored) SR5 package with the 4X4 V8! I picked it up Saturday and it's been a blast!

I traded in my pony car ('98 Red Pontiac Firebird) for this car. The 4Runner is a totally different animal to drive.

Anyone know of any good websites for first time SUV owners? I found one here but was hoping someone else could point me in the direction of some others (like SUV owner websites).

Kind of why I'm looking for some SUV owners groups. I've never been off road or driven an SUV before. I want to learn from others rather than risk my new car because I don't know what the hell I'm doing. 🙂

You're gonna love your SUV... and hate the gas mileage. I keep an Accord around for that. My truck rules on the snow and for utility (try lugging six 8x6 fences from Home Depot in anything else) 🙂

Ack! I forgot to get the film developed!

I don't have a digicam, yet. That's a whole 'nother shopping expedition to find the one that's right for me.

Yep! I talked them about $500 below invoice.

They didn't have any incentives on the appearance package (They offered me the same SR5 with the old two-tone and ugly grey body cladding for $1,500 less, but I hated the look of it.).

I'm sure they still made plenty of money off me, though. Still, I'm happy!
