YACT, how to rotate tires on a civic??? jack points?

No Lifer
arg? how do you jack it up?the jack points aren't long enough for me to jack it up and slide a jackstand under. its a 98 sedan. is there a front jack points? all i see in the manual are the 4 under the passanger compartment near the 4 wheels.

not ot mention one wheel has nuts that are stuck big time🙁 and yes i have a tire iron.

If you're gonna do it w/ the scissor jack just use the spare to hold a place. You don't want to use that jack to lift the entire front or rear end. Anyway, there should be cross-member running front to back in front. Use the front of that to lift the front and there should be rear cross-member running left to right between the wheels. You can use that to lift the rear.

buy a real floor jack and 4 jackstands. They cost maybe $50 for a set. about what you would pay for 2 rotations.

using a real jack.

hate to break out the spare🙁 argh, such a pain. last guy that rotated em musta over tightened the bolts🙁

your front lift point is that piece of metal slightly off center (towards the drivers side) under your front bumper. your rear lift point is your tow hook. this is from the factory service manual.

thanks🙂 was so fustrated, now i might be able to change my oil :Q

why don't they put this in the normal manual.. grr

google so failed me this time.

anyhow time to look under the bumper. last i looked there was a bucha plastic shielding.

Don't you need a torque wrench to apply the proper ammount of torque to the lugnuts? You don't want a wheel coming off on the highway.

The front of the car has a metal circle type thing that you can put your jack on. Or on the two sides of the car right after the front tires there is a metal plate that you can place your jack on to lift the car up.

hah yea, i just used the 4 way type tire iron i had. front ones were tight, i had to pretty much stand on the tire iron to get em lose🙁

think i need a bigger jack to jack from the front. if i jack from the front the 2 ton jack only lifts the car enough to slide the jack stands in at their lowest setting🙁
