YACT: How to remove car paint?

One of my door panels of my car was painted at a Earl Scheib (worst place ever!!) cuz it was cheap...well I learned the hard way and now the paint is peeling off and I can actually take it off with my fingers (like taking the coating from a notebook) . It is a clear coat with some metallic sparkles on it...(my car is beige). Is there something that I can rent at home depot that will remove all the other coat without damaging the OEM paint that is underneath?

It seems to be more of a plastic film. Would a thinner work?

Paint and epoxy remover.

Be careful not to get it on any other panels of the car, though.
