I have a '95 Buick Skylark and I need to find the towing capacity for it. I don't have the owners manual. Is there some place on-line that would list this kind of stuff?

Wrong. That's just the hitch rating. 2,000 pounds is a generic class I hitch, they don't make them any lighter-duty than that unless you have someone weld up a custom backyard jobber.Originally posted by: CraigRT
this site shows they make a hitch that will do at least 2000 pounds.. so that is likely a safe estimation it probably isn't the MAX of the car.

Something to consider when towing is not just the engine, but the cooling system, the transmission, and the braking system. It is very easy to overload one of these when towing with a car. I would strongly recommend getting a transmission cooler installed.
The skylark is not a large car, it's not built to tow very much. Call the dealership and ask them what the capacity for your car. pay particular attention to the tongue weight and be sure not to exceed that.
