I have a '95 Buick Skylark and I need to find the towing capacity for it. I don't have the owners manual. Is there some place on-line that would list this kind of stuff?

Okay. Found sticker. Looked up what GVWR, GAWR FRT, and GAWR RR are. Now my next Q.

The GAWR RR includes the weight of the rear axle assembly itself. How can I found out how much it weighs? Since that will impact how much I can tow correct?

EDIT: I want to tow a meduim sized Uhaul trailer (4'x6' and about 600lbs empty) from Indianapolis to LA. My Sklylark is a V6.

EDIT2: No hitch yet. Will be having one put on soon.

Wrong. That's just the hitch rating. 2,000 pounds is a generic class I hitch, they don't make them any lighter-duty than that unless you have someone weld up a custom backyard jobber.

Something to consider when towing is not just the engine, but the cooling system, the transmission, and the braking system. It is very easy to overload one of these when towing with a car. I would strongly recommend getting a transmission cooler installed.

The skylark is not a large car, it's not built to tow very much. Call the dealership and ask them what the capacity for your car. pay particular attention to the tongue weight and be sure not to exceed that.

Cool, thanx ZM (and everyone else who responded). I don't know why I didn't think of calling the dealer. Ball park, do you know how much transmission cooler cost including instilation?
