So my friend was parked in a garage, when some FVCKER apparently drove by and knocked it off while she was gone. No note or anything.

Anyways then, I haven't seen it yet..but do you guys have any tips on attaching it back on? Is it possible? It's a 2002 Focus..

Don't they usually use some sort of bolt system? You almost have to look at it and find out what part broke on it.

You could glue it back on, but IMO that's not the best option. They usually screw or bolt on. Depending on how much was damaged, you may need to get a new mirror. Then you just have to take apart the door until you can get to the bolts and reattach the mirror.

What's wrong with that? When some drunk asshole hit my drivers side mirror off I used electrical tape and a quarter to hold it in place. Electrical tape isn't nearly as strong as duct tape

Syr - do you have a pic of the damage? Either you can temporary fix it by using tape and glue, or if you want it permanently done, go to a junk yard and buy a new one. (The dealer will bend you over the coals for a new one)

it will be hard to find a 2002 focus in a junkyard.

The Focus has been around since the 2000 model year. The only hard part to find in a junkyard for a Focus will be the same color side mirror, assuming it's the body color. It's pretty safe to assume they haven't changed the assembly for a side mirror

I believe the mystery process about which you seek enlightenment is called 'reattaching' a mirror.

same thing happened to me and i drove around with it duct taped on for like 6 months before i found out it was surprisingly not that expensive to have replaced. (i think i paid like 50 bucks all together cos my mechanic got the part from a scrap yard or something)
