YACT: How much should I sell this used car for?

Hey, so I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with too many miles on it for me to want to keep it (142,000). So, basically it has enough miles that I want to sell to an individual because for tradeins it's worth nothing.

I guess kbb doesn't link friendly, so I'll list the specs:

3.4L dohc engine
AC
CD and cassette
Premium sound
Leather seats
Sunroof
Power seats
Cruise
Alloy wheels

kbb value on this car is $3865, which seems really really high.

The car has no mechanical defects, the interior is beautiful, the only real problem with it is that in the front panel of the driver's side there is a dent from a deer running into me. It didn't make any sharp edges, and should be easy enough to plunger out, I just didn't do it because I'm no pro at that stuff and didn't want to chip the paint on it.

So, realistiaclly, if you were me, what would YOU ask for it?

in today's market you will be lucky to get $2500 for it. Look at the price of all used cars right now and that should give you a good idea.

I'm going to have to agree with the first two and say $3000, but be prepared to give someone a "deal". Sell it in the paper as a "safe college car" and you may be able to find an older couple with a need for such a ride. Don't sell for below $2250. 😉

yeah, its pretty competitive...

i still say somewhere between 2500-3000$ depending on the market i guess.

its a hard market for used cars now. There are a lot of cars out there right now since everyone is upgrading to new cars because of low interest rates.

kbb and edmunds are a good start.
