YACT: How much does a navigation system cost?

My navigation system is a $50 palm pilot with a program called Mapopolis.

It gives turn by turn directions, a street map, and GPS functions. It's never failed me.

It's a cheap Handspring that can with a free GPS module. It was a closeout deal at OD.

Yeah, Palm + GPS unit is definitely the way to go.

The problem with the handheld units is they don't always have spoken directions, right? I can't hardly adjust the radio in an unfamiliar area, let alone look down at a tiny screen to follow a map.

I'd go with a Street Pilot III if you can't afford a DVD Based solution (there was another thread about these a few weeks back and the general idea was while the Street Pilot is good, nothing beets DVD Based)
