YACT: How many days do I have to get an inspection sticker?

I'm putting a car on the road that came from out of state, so the inspection will be no good when I finally get it on the road. I swapped the registration last monday and they told me I had 7 days to swap the plates over (so the car will be up and running tomorrow). Now, how long do I have to get the inspection taken care of? It needs a new exhaust badly, so I know it won't pass right now. BTW: this is a MA inspection we're talking about.
