I always thought that it would be the center of the front wheel to the center of the back wheel..but it doesn't seem to make much sense. For example on my Integra which has a length of 168 inches or so, the wheelbase is about 100 inches long. That would mean there's 68 inches from the center of the front wheel to the front bumper and from the center of the back wheel to the back bumper right?

Compare this to a car like a Camaro, which is 193 inches long, yet also has wheel base of 100 inches. And just looking at this car it doesn't seem like the length from wheel to wheel is almost equal to the two sides of the wheel to the bumpers..

Wheel Center to Wheel Center.

The Camaro has MASSIVE front and rear overhangs. Just look at it.

No, that would mean that the length from the center of the front wheel is around 34 inches and the length from the center of the rear wheel would be around 34 inches.
