YACT: How hard is it to replace the rear sway bar on an Acura Integra?

Shouldnt be very difficult. Usually there is one conection to the suspension arms on each side and 2 mounts to the frame.

So just a straight unbolt the bent one, and bolt on the new one? Won't need any special tools?

no sir. Just a srachet, sockets, and probably some PB Blaster if you live in the rust belt. Are you keeping the original bushings? I would suggest replacing them if the car is old.

It's just the sway bar itself. I was planning on leaving the brackets and bushings in place.

Yeah, really shouldn't be too hard. But damn, what did you hit to break that? And are you sure that nothing else was damaged? Seems to me that the mounts took some abuse as well.

yeah if the rear stabilzer is bent, I can only imagine what else....best case I'd imagine the endlinks messed up unless it bolts directly to the A/trailing arms.

My stablizer had to go through a tunnel...it took about 15 mins to unbolt and get the old one out, but like 2 hours to get the new one in....the one hard brake line was in the way or it simply ended up on the wrong side of things (with a lift it'd have been a lot easier).

if the subframe isn't bent out of shape (which it most probably is), then it's an extremely simple bolt on project.

Remember to torque the bolts on the sway bar with the car on the ground and not on jackstands; this sets the proper preload when tightening things.

How the heck is he gonna do that? He's gonna need a pit or something.
