YACT: Hopped-up Honda split in half in race crash, Driver exits laughing

Life was one big laugh for a driver who wrapped a souped-up Honda around a tree in Scarborough yesterday, splitting the small car in two after allegedly torquing it with nitrous oxide for what appeared to be a street race. Witnesses to the thunderous crash say the 23-year-old was laughing as he and his girlfriend were pulled from the rear half of the wreckage moments after losing control while using the fuel, popular among street racers looking to boost horsepower and known to dentists as laughing gas.
nitrous oxide isn't fuel...

Are you questioning the journalistic integrity of a Canadian source? You know they are the only non-biased way to get news. 😛

The journalist might not know the difference between NOS as a fuel and a fuel additive, but if this was an american reporter, it probaly would've had something like. "The middle eastern man driving the civic was said to have been targeting the white house during his horrific spin..."

I've found myself laughing after my friend fishtailed with me in the car and we ended up about a foot away parallel to a guy at a stop sign...so what? No one got hurt, laughter can be a normal reaction to that...

its never a fuel. its the oxidizer. the other ingredient is the fuel.

I've only been saying it for like a year now;

The movie "The Fast and The Furious" is directly responsible for all the street racing and bad attitudes from all persons under 25 years of age in the USA.

From ALL persons under 25 years of age? I haven't seen that movie, but I get road rage like everybody else every once in a while.

That wasn't in the USA.

Bakogiannis was visiting her mother's home on Pharmacy Ave., just north of Lawrence Ave., when she heard tires screaming at 2 p.m., looked out the window and saw a neon-yellow CRX, with obvious modifications for speed, spinning wildly down the street

A few too many commas there..but anyways, what's an "obvious modification" for speed? A fart-can and body kit? You can't exactly see under the hood from outside..

That had nothing to do with NAWS. They were reffering to the fact that the car was split in half by the crash.

so what do you propose, the movie get banned?

Obvious modifications for speed = rice-a-roni???

Now THAT's worth a good laugh. Besides, wouldn't a simple spark or unchecked engine heat ignite the nitrous, especially if it was a wet system? It prolly was a dry system though, but generally a proper kit has a valve safety shutoff. I doubt the passengers would be laughing because of the nitrous.

NOS is a company, nitrous is the product.
