This is in my 1996 corolla dx.

Well, I installed my system, deck, set of 6 1/2's, amp+sub, and now i've run into a fairly large problem.

My interior lights no longer work (ie, DASH lights, a/c control lights, etc) the dome light DOES work, strangely enough.

Now, before you say "check your fuses", i've checked every fuse in the entire car and they were all fine. im stumped. i called toyota and they said they charge 60$/hr to troubleshoot and that it 'might be' the rheostat BEHIND the dash, which would be 300$+. i have no clue why that would go bad just from installing a new headunit ?

Other things i have tried:

hooking up factory radio again, having nothing installed at all, looking behind deck for possible wires i might have hit?, lots of diff. things.

PLeASE, anyone know what this could possibly be? if you need anymore info, just ask, thank you.

I was gonna say that maybe your factory radio controlled it but it seems like you've already hooked it back up.

You might have hooked up the stereo wrong. Did you use a wiring harness adaptor made specifically for your Toyota?

That's what I would think... the wiring is done wrong, and your dash lights run through the same loop. My friend's dash in his subaru does the same thing.. he's knocked them out a couple times.

Also, did you check ALL the fuses? These include the fuses under the hood and the fusebox usually found under the driver's side dash.

Yes, i checked every fuse in the whole car, under the hood and all.

Wiring was done right, my bro was a car stereo installer and he did it for me, and yes it was using the harness made for my car.

ALSO, i dont think the wiring could be a possibility, BECAUSE i plugged back in the factory deck and it STILL did not work.
