Okay, so I was driving out of school today, and then looked around at all the beautiful cars my peers were driving (which their parents of course bought them..ugh.). There were at least 3 brand new mustangs in the parking lot, a few nice nice BMWs including the new BMW convertible etc. etc. etc. Now....I would like to put all their cars to shame. This may sound stupid, but I want to slap it in their spoiled faces. With that said...heres what Im looking for....
---
-Semi/Decent gas mileage (no hummer like mileage here).
-Something nice looking of course without it being so typical (ie-brand new mustang/bmw etc.)
-Relatively cheap (20g's and under...preferably 10 and under...used is perfectly fine).
-Something reliable (No pintos)
-If its an old car, must have common parts.
---

Any suggestions?

For less than 20k your not going to slap any BMW's around in the looks/fit/finish department

3000gt or dodge stealth fits the bill, minus the reliable part ;)

my friend just sold his mint 94 modified 3000gt vr4 for 13k, you can normally get them quite a bit lower than that.

I would say go with either a nice used STI or evo, although I'm not sure if you can get an decent used evo in your price range.

You could get a nice 1970s Corvette Stingray, fun car and it really will stand out. It sounds like you're too young to afford the insurance though...

This suggestion is against your requests... but I'd suggest a 1990-1995 BMW 5 series. You'll love the E34 Bimmer, and as long as you get one that was taken care of, you'll find it pretty reliable for an older car, ****** trying to impress people.

My parents will pay for the insurance since i get the "good student" discount, but I dunno what the costs would be like on that puppy so i dunno.

You'll eventually grow up and in ten years realize that this period of time in your life made you better than them because you didn't have their flashy stuff.

Stop trying to keep up with the Jones' because no matter what you do there will always be somebody with something better than you.

Late '90s Volvo 850/S70 GLT. The low-pressure turbo engine is punchy enough, the car has a nice interior, and they're reliable.
