YACT: Help me figure this out.

I have a 98' Civic LX sedan and out of sheer curiosity, I'm trying to get the engine specs straight.
I did a quick search and came up with this which suggests that it has 106 bhp and 1493 cc's, but...
The manual says that the engine is 1590 cc's, which would give it 127 bhp according to the site. The manual also says that the compression ratio is 9.4:1, same on the website. So... my question is, is the site or my manual wrong?

Anyone know what engine is really in my car? 😕

It specifies whether it is talking about EX or not for most of the specs but it only has one engine size listed.

Heh heh. We would if people remembered to put YACT in front of their thread titles...as such, I only got 5 🙁

Not sure about imports but most domestics have the actual engine displacement under the hood somewhere. You can also decrypt the VIN (look for a Civic enthusiast site) to get the engine that's in your model. It's unlikely, but someone could have put the wrong manual in the car....

That's what I'm thinking...Check for a 1.6L or a 1.5L somewhere on the engine

I know the EX is a 1.6 (1590cc), but I'm not sure if the LX shares the same displacement, so maybe the manual is referring to the EX.

I just went and looked under the hood... No markings for displacement, but it did say "D16Y7" which means that... it has an EX engine according to that website? WTF?

Time to stock up on those VTEC stickers 😎
