Two completely different types of cameras. One's an overpriced pocket sized point and shoot.

The other other is a mega-zoom with superior controls and optics.

I used to own a sony cybershot... it took surprisingly good pics for an amateur camera.

I have never heard of Lumix.

I recently bought the FujiFilm FinePix S7000. It is a really good camera.

I admit they are two totally different cameras.

I realize the sony is a 7.2MP newbie P & S but from the pictures I have seen they are really nice and if I needed I could do some really large prints and if I needed I could crop a lot before quality would be sacraficed.

On the other hand the panay is a 4.0MP Super Zoom with manual control and would allow me to get in close virtually eliminating the need for cropping.

I can get both of these for roughly $375.

The G6 is $150 out of my price range. The S70 if very comparable to the P150 but it cost $40 more. Don't get me wrong, I like canon but for this price range they really don't have much imo.
 
The S70 and P150 are very different. The S70 has a full manual controle and wide angle lense.
