YACT: Has anyone here driven an Infinity G35 in snow?

My dad is thinking of getting the sports sedan G35 with the 6MT + premium package but he's a little worried about how a RWD would do in the Canadian winter. I know that the car has traction control and a limited slip differential but as a general rule RWD cards are terrible when driving in snow.

Does anyone here own a G35? Has anyone driven one in snow?

Maybe he should get a beater for the winter?

No for 2 reasons:
1) He occasionally uses it to drive customers/co-workers on short trips (eg business lunches)
2) The winter lasts 7 months up here, we get our first snowfall sometime in Oct. and everything melts away by Apr.

So no beaters for the winter

AWD G35s will be coming this fall 😉

The lease on his current car (2000 Solara) expires in Sept., hopefully the AWD model will be out by then and will be available on the sedan and not just the coupe.

IIRC, only the Sedan is slated to recieve AWD currently, but plans for the coupe should be down the road, so good luck 🙂

lotta people here have beaters 😀 now that its summer i see alot of people busting out the porsches and m3/m5s and various other sports cars

I've read that the g does pretty well on snow since it's got great Traction Control but if you live in a snowy climate I highly recommend waiting for AWD anyway.

Snow tires. Get them and he'll be fine. Even if it had AWD, with those low-profile performance tires, he'd still be slipping. Snow tires are key.

And from what I've heard from other G35 owners, it does great in the snow with htem.

The sport tires on the sedan aren't exactly that low-profile, but true, making sure you get at least all-season tires if not snow tires is a must.
