Go with your dad's instinct, and get a Jetta. Get the TDI. You will love making that choice with gas prices going up constantly.

Are you sure you want to buy a new car? You do know that your insurance will be higher now with the accident and especially with a new car.

Yeah, I know. I wouldn't mind a used car, but my parents are kinda set on a new car.

And after looking at the TSX some more, I think I still prefer the Altima. I like that the TSX's only option is auto or manual though, and that just about everything is standard, but I think we'll go and take a look at them anyways.
you can't really compare a tsx to the altima. tsx is a much better car, def. more along the lines of a maxima. not so much in terms of power, but in terms of the overall package. if you can scrape some more money together, the tsx is def. a sexy car. my friend has one and he loves it.

not really. the tsx is weeny with a tiny engine. the maxima is a huge boat with lots of power. if your talking soley about interior fit and finish, theyre comparable.
😕 so...........you're agreeing with me?

hahah i suppose so. i read your post wrong.

Um... the 2.5 is a slug.
Have you considered a small/mid-size truck?
The 2.5 is hardly a slug. It would probably smoke your Focus, beotch.
Actually, it is kind of slow. I've seen a manual 2.5S at the dragstrip at it ran like 16.2@82. The trap speed in particular was pretty weak.
The auto is about as fast as our I4 Accords (w/ auto). The driver of that car sucks ass 😛

Well the track is mild altitude, so he'd get .2 off for being sea level.

I dunno, I suspect the Altima's 2.5 is actually a bit weaker than Accord's 2.4 despite the paper spec advantage of the Nissan.

2.4 accord dyno

2.5 altima dyno

Uh... Accord dyno is for HP and Altima dyno is for torque.. lol

2002-2003 Altima Dyno, not sure if the 2005 is anymore powerful though. (I just woke up to find more bruises on my body and it really kinda sucks).

Not if you scroll up the document

AH. rofl @ me. Didn't even see that. (Tried scrolling down, but not up)

Anyways, we went to the dealership that had an Altima w/ the options I wanted, took it for a spin and it's sitting in the driveway right now. 😀

42 Month lease, and my dad got the payments down to $280/month with tax included, compared to $350/month + tax. He could've gotten it lower, but we didn't have the time to continue cutting the price down.

So far, I have no complaints. The cabin is much more roomier than I expected and bigger than my dad's old '01 I30 (and huge compared to his '04 G35C). The engine isn't the strongest, but it's fine for my needs and if I need some extra power from it, it's there. I won't be racing or pushing it too hard and it's fun to drive.

That's all, 😀

if you don't mind spending a bit extra, take a look at the 2004 Pontiac GTO's. Sporty 350-hp Grand Prix look-alikes. Not too flashy, but sporty enough for me.

Congrats but did you even take a look at some of the alternatives?
TSX, 6, Accord?

We were going to look at the 6, but we didn't. I wouldn't have minded, but I'm happy with the Altima.

After pricing out a 6 online last night, it came to be alittle more expensive than I'd hoped with nearly the same options as the Altima. I didn't look at the Accord, I'm not a big fan of them (coupe is nice though). And I spoke to my dad about the TSX and the pricing was a bit too high. Plus I've heard the engine is kind of bland, but I'm not sure how it compares to the Altima's.

On the way to the Nissan dealership we spoke about Pontiacs and dismissed them. The GTO is kind of bland looking, but it is pretty sporty and looks like it'll surprise other people. We also spoke about the G6, but we didn't know the pricing off-hand in the car and didn't think to research it last night.
