I was getting off from work, and I was going to go fix my friends computer. Hes apparently having some error popups on startup, so I was going to see if I could resolve that...

So on the way home from work, I'm driving, I was on the left lane, he was in the middle.

This lady pulls infront of me, and I'm going about 45-50mph, shes not too far away when she cut me off, so I'm slamming the brakes. Tires lock up, and I was trying to avoid hitting her, so I turned toward the middle lane (I realize now that I should have went into the grass), I end up sliding into that lane, my friend said he saw the lady cut me off, so he knew I was going to try and get into his current lane. So I'm still sliding, hes now in the right lane. Car is still sliding, and I managed to hit his front/side (not sure), and My car ends up spinning left, and he ends up spinning right. I was hit on my right side.

While we're both spinning, I flew into a ditch, and got into the opposite direction, did a U-Turn where the lady pulled infront of me, and came back to the scene of the accident.

While he was sliding to the right, he went off the road, and hit some car parked there. For who knows what reason its off the side of a pretty busy/fast street is beyond me, considering theres 2 shopping centers within walking distance. His car hit the parked car, and he totally screwed up the front of his car, and the car that was parked, ended up flying into a tree.

No one was seriously injured. My friend has a little scratch on his neck from the seatbelt, thats about it. The owner of the parked car wasn't there during any of this time.

I drive a Saturn SC2, my car's side is dented, Mostly the door. The corner fenders are scratched, but they are okay I think. The rims are scratched up, and my alignment is screwed over.

My friend was driving his grandmother's Toyota Corolla. His front is totally busted, and the car isn't worth the price to get it fixed. I believe it will be considered Totaled.

The parked car was some Blue Eagle, it looked like a Geo Prism to me. That cars rear is totally busted up, maybe totalled.

The driver that cut me off was driving an older Monte Carlo/Lumina (can't tell from the rear, but I knew the style). The driver drove off, and was no where to be seen after the accident.

Oh well, this sucks.

That does suck...but as long as you and everyone else is ok, then dont be so down about it. It'll all eventually work out. Cars can be fixed/replaced, people cant.

that really sucks man, good luck resolving that. I hate people who drive away after a hit n run, even though it appears they didnt hit you or you hit them, they still obviously caused it by being a brain dead driver.

My car came out the "best" out of everyones. My car is repairable, and driveable. Though my alignment is REALLY screwed up. My Insurance should rise. Anybody have any idea how much?

Obviously the driver who cut me off is to blame. But shes long gone, and Florida is a No Fault state. From what I understand it, no matter who is at fault, your insurance pays for your problems.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about paying this off or getting it fixed. I dunno whats going to happen to everyone else.

Luckily my friend and I were involved, and not some other stranger that I managed to swerve into, we work at the same place if you're wondering how hes behind me driving. Hes not mad at me, and he knows its not my fault.

Cops filed a report, and sent it to our insurance companies supposedly. Nothing I can do about it now.

I have both front tires off at the moment, the right side was hit, we're checking that for damage, and the left side is used a comparison. My dad is coming to go look at my car. He used to be a mechanic, so he'll look at things. Hopefully my car was just knocked out of alignment, and nothing broke or bent. My brother noticed something was out of place in the front tires, some gap was smaller on the right side, than on the left. So we'll check that out too.

I need a new door, and I'm not sure what else.

That sucks big time. Unfortunately, in most states, if that other car was nto hit, it was concidered to be not involved. Next time run into it.

Glad to know everyone is fine, that is the most important thing.

Evadman, if I had hit the driver who cut me off, I would have been at fault automatically.

But regardless, Florida is a no-fault state, your insurance company pays for your problems, no one elses.

Though, I do agree, I should have hit her. Show her a lesson for cutting people off on a 3 lane road!

conjur, people stopped by and asked if we were okay, thats about it. No other witnesses. The driver who cut me off never bothered to look back, and It was just my friend and I as the only witnesses in the whole thing. I couldn't get a plate, my car was too busy spinning into a ditch.

That is incorrect. As long as you have witnesses that say that the other car did not leave enough room to do a safe and proper lane change, which this was obviously not.

Well, glad you're ok.

Your rates will go up but hard to say how much...depends on how much it costs to fix your car and if your insurance ends up paying to fix your friend's car, too.

Not necessarily true. The only part of FL auto insurance that is really no-fault is the part that covers injury. "Personal Injury Protection (PIP or No Fault) pays 80 percent of all necessary and reasonable medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered injury, regardless of who caused the accident."

From the FL Dept of insurance site:
"I was in an automobile accident. The other person was at fault. What should I do?

You have two options: You may file a claim with the at- fault party?s insurance company if they are insured; or, if you have collision insurance on your vehicle, you can have your own insurance company pay for the damages, less your deductible, and they will usually subrogate against the at-fault party to recover their loss."

it was a woman driver, so typical... i cant even count how many times ive had to swerve out of the way or slam down on my breaks because of a stupid woman... its really beginning to get old. if i could i would ban all women from driving until they proved they were good drivers. o and fyi... men get into 3x more accidents as women, but you know why? bc of what just happened to Actaeon, it was a womans fault but she wasnt involved, so typical.
