Hey,
A friend of mine at school who is 16 recieved a 2003 Honda Accord from his parents (spoiled bastard). He has the 4 cyclinder version with a manual transmission. Nearly everyday at school he brags that "his" car is so fast and that it can do 0-60 in 6 seconds

Can you guys set the record straight as to what the real performance is for this entry level car?

The 6 cylinder is about 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. I doubt if you're gonna see below 7.5 seconds for a 4-banger Accord regardless of whether it's an auto or manual. You'd probably be lucky to hit 8.0 seconds

and he's about right on that. the 4cyl aint anything to write home about, but i'm sure its decently fun/peppy. just my plain ol' lancer has plenty of pep (although you can feel none of it since its so cushiony)

You got to remember, that if he's 16, his gear changing probably won't be the most efficient unless he's been practicing a lot, even then, not as good as a more experienced driver.

PCMarine, I'd reccomend just keeping low unless he says something directly to you and tell him the exact time then.

Yeah I'll just continue to roll my eyes at the guy. It's rather pathetic that he's bragging about a car that mommey and daddy bought him which he doesn't deserve.
