YACT--Firmer shifts, less slippage, better tranny...

WOO WOO..

Nice crisp firm shifts... I can definitely feel more power going to the ground. I am going to tow my neighbors boat to the lake this weekend so thats where the real test will be, but its definitely a seat of the pants improvement right now!

I put this in my E40D tranny in a 97 F150 that has 150k miles on it. Took me about 5 hours to do along with taking out 15 qts of fluid by also draining the torque converter, installing new springs, making some minor mods to the accumulator, replacing some check balls, etc and cleaning everything up and putting in a new filter. The mods included drilling a few exhaust fluid holes in the 2nd gear valve passage and widening some holes in the separator plate.

would this "shift kit" be something similar to what ford offers as an option as "power take off provision" for the automatic transmission on the 6.0L diesel F250?

I assume you did regular transmission fluid changes, new fluid on a 150k miles transmission can have a lot to do with shift quality.

the elite part is not taht you did it, it's that you did it YOURSELF.

have a  on me for being in the top 3% of the gene pool that knows something about cars!

Shift kits make automatics shift harder and faster. Increases power handling, gives better acceleration times and reduces wear on clutch packs in the auto.

I put a shift kit in the 1980 camaro I had back in college. Spinning the tires going into second gear was fun until I lost second gear about 6 months later.
