I am 16 and looking for a first car. I found a 95 honda del sol with 39k miles for about $6000. What are your guys opions on this car. Or any other make and module suggestions in my price range ( which is 5k- 6k maybe up to 7k).

Edit: What is the catch with seized car deals like these and this Some one linked this and its looks too good to be true, but I cant figure out the catch?

WTF? 39k? That sounds VERY suspicious to me. Why does it have such low mileage?

A Civic Del Sol (AKA the 3rd Gen CRX) is a Chick car, but it's a good vehicle ;)

Yeah, I was gonna say it's sort of a girly car. So if your boyfriend doesn't mind, sounds like a good deal :p

On a serious note, yeah, that mileage doesn't sound right. See if you can get a VIN, and CarFax it.

Well when you dont have a car any car is better than none. Do you have a suggestion for anyother non chick car in that price range that does not look like cr@p.

Its also a tad heavier the the CRX so even with the increased power from the B16 its by no means fast.

Cool little car. As close as you can get to a convertible with a full hardtop for $6000.

The 92-95 Del Sol's had less hp than the new Civic EX's, 125 IIRC. Single Cams Suck. Plus, they're heavy as crap. Del Slo is what all the 99-00 Si Fanboys call them.

EDIT: The JDM Del Sol had the B16A2/A3 Engine, which is 160/111...but it still ran slower than the 99-00 Si's...waaay to heavy for that engine. And the US version was a D-Series Engine, I believe.

Am I going to notice the difference in every day driving or is that just a racing thing...I am a total car n00b but I am willing to learn

If you like to drive aggressively on the street, you'll notice big time. If you're a grandma who goes the speed limit everywhere, then it doesn't matter.

Don't pay attention to that "chick car" crap. I think some people are insecure about their sexuality and really think the kind of car they drive has something to do with who they are.

Which model of Del Sol is it? VTEC?

Everyday driving you probably wouldn't care if your car had 3 cylinders... but how much you want to bet you will do everything to make that car faster once you get older. :D

Yah I never really got the chick car stuff except for the new bugs I dont really think of any car as a chick car. As far as the model I dont really know the specifics, I had just never heard of the model b4 and wanted to see what you guys thought.

Looks like in '94 the B16 became available. Info

But to answer the question; I doubt you'd be too concerned about this. However, once do learn to drive you'll prolly wish you had a little more power. Merging on the freeway with a gutless car blowze big chunks

if the car's in good condition it's still a nice car for a 16 year old...

Until I see I link, I call BS. Unless someone made the swap. A 2.2 liter in that tiny car is moronic, and I don't think Honda wouldn't do that.

Here is a list of Honda engine codes, I don't see the H22A in the Del Sol/CRX section. You must have seen someone's modded Del Sol, and unless it was a pure track car, tell them they're stupid.
