YACT: Drop-in LED brake-light replacement

I want to replace the brake and turn signal bulbs in my car with drop-in LEDs. I've seen a WIDE range of prices for these bulbs, but I saw this site with this selection of 12-volt DC bulbs, which, if I'm correct, is exactly what I need.

Anyway, is this all I need to convert my brakes and blinkers to LEDs? I'd need 4 red LEDs for the tails/brakes (not sure of size, I don't have my manual handy now) and 2 amber LEDs for the blinkers.

Any suggestions or advice?

The LED replacements project light in a narrow pattern straight out the back, likely defeating the design of the incandescent reflector. Instead of having brake lights you'll have brake dots.

those replacement 1157 bulbs are useless.. they are spot type and yes tehy are eye catching but you sometimes cant see the different between braking and no braking..

I prefer the custom tail lights that i have on my bike. They are nice and round and actually look DOT legal.. I doubt those LED tail lights are DOT legal.

Edit: the ones on my bike, are both bright (esp at night) and clear. The angle is a bit screwed up, but atctually i havnt had problems with it so far.

Interesting, I hadn't thought about that...maybe I should do some more research.

I see the LEDs on DeVilles around here and they look awesome, but I should have figured it wouldn't be that easy to get the LED effect on my Accord. :)

I'd have to agree with good guy on this one...brake lights are not something you want to have not work. Forgetting the problems you'll have with the po po, you'd have a big red target on your car that says rear end me.
