YACT: Does anyone have experience with any older VW golf gti?

I had a '90 for a while. It was OK. Felt like driving a tractor after my MR2 got stolen...thankfully, they recovered it nine months later, so I was able to switch back🙂

Still, couldn't fault the storage space, and it had decent handling for an econobox. I was slightly annoyed by the low (to me) freeway mileage, after the MR2 and the Celica, but I suppose 8-valve engines can only do so much.
