YACT: do you recommend the use of fuel injector cleaner?

Well, my high-school auto shop teacher (who has been there over 30 years, btw) recommends using FI cleaner every 30,000 miles or so, and then changing the fuel filter after you've run the stuff out of the tank. Dunno..
