While I hope that no one is hurt when your empty car finally does roll down that hill, I also hope that it costs you A LOT of money so that you can properly atone for your stupidity.

I'd like to hear your explanation of how the brakes on my stopped, parked car suddenly fail and causes it to go driving away on its own..

Well... if you don't have the brakes engaged (which you said was "a waste of time and energy") then those brakes won't have to "suddenly fail," do they?
 
Yes, I do. My hand brake broke earlier in the year, so I just got a new cable and everything. I always put it on and leave it in gear. There are lots of hills where I live, so you can never be too careful.
