OK, the consensus is to get new tires. Off to the store I go to get new tires.

I think I need new front tires, but I don't know jack squat about tires. They look like they are balding, but I want to make sure I need to replace them before I drop money on them.

Take a penny and put it with Lincoln's head upside down in the tread groove. If the tread doesn't go up past the top of Lincoln's head, you most likely need new tires.

yes. u should've replaced a while ago. from now on, just use the penny test.
(insert a penny abe's head down. if his head is covered by the tread, ur good to go. if u see his whole head and more, u should replace.)

Damn, there's no tread left on those tires! You should have replaced them at least 5k miles ago. It must not rain much where you drive...or you never drive this vehicle in the rain. Forget about snow/ice. You'd have bit it by now.
