YACT: Difference between live axle, solid axle, and IRS?

"live axle" and "solid axle" are different terms for the same thing, which is a solid rear axle running across the car. The IRS is split so that each axle coming out of the differntial can bend up and down and allow each wheel to move independently of one another.

IRS
Solid rear axle
