YACT: Did they make a 93 cobra that was....

In the year 1993 when the cobra mustang was first made where there any convertible models made?
I know that there where only a little less than 5,000 made that year, if convertible ones where produced how many of those 5k where convertibles?

Also when looking at the car, where all are the vin #'s located on it.... And from the VIN # can I use something like carfax to tell if it is an authentic cobra?
What all do I need to check for to make sure everything is original and this isnt just another clone car.

Those guys know their stangs. The VIN should only be in one place as far as I know. Anyone really into their mustang would have the window sticker from the day they bought the car. I still have mine from 1989.

Well It may be a two-three owner car..... And could have gotton lost in the process..... I think that the vin # is located on the chassis and in the window... If there are more than one I want to make sure they match up. I know that the bumpers and stuff are supposed to be marked somehow too right? Someone was telling me last night to make sure everything was right before making the purchase.

The only reason I questioned it is because I have never seen a 93 convertible cobra. I mean it is possible because you don't see that many 93 cobras since only 5000 where produced, so the convertible amount should be much lower than that 500-1000 i would imagine, IF they where made.

I don't remember Ford making the Cobra convertible until 1994 with the new SN95 chassis.

Is there some kinda ford listing on the net that shows like how many red ones where made and how many of such and such where made, If so I could look there. I posted on the corral and was told to look for a D as the last # on the VIN if its a D then its a true cobra if its an E is a regular mustang that has been made to look like a cobra.
