the guy got his initial car stolen in Jan, got his gap insurance check, meaning that he gets the value of the stolen car, sorta like a coupon, to buy another car from the same dealership he got his stolen car at. He picked the protege and he had already bought an F-250 in Feb, so he just now got this, and paid around $7500 for it. he then listed it on eBay Motors and i made him a cash offer and he agreed.
 
I'd say you got a good deal for a car that's only 4.5 years.

I've got a friend with an 01 protoge who loves it (He paid $6k new for it from the dealer he worked at... they cleared it out in 02 and he got it dirt cheap).

I rode back from Vegas in it once. The thing runs very nice and he's had no probs at all...
 
I've got a gold automatic 02 ES protege. Purchased it about a year ago, and its been a great ride so far. There is an annoying rattle whenever I accelerate, but that could just be my car. Have to take it to the dealer soemtime and figure out what it is.
