YACT: DAMN Clutch

Driving the car home, i relized the clutch feeling a little loose and the car not going into gear nice. Took to shop...damn clutch is gone on it...$380 job including parts. DAMMIT!!!

It is at 110k Miles so i guess it is not THAT bad...has taught 4 people how to stick shift, including me!

Get a stage 4 clutch, drop it anywhere and don't worry about a thing.

Might be expensive, and totally uneeded, but still...cool factor ++

RIP Clutch

I would kill for a clutch job that only cost $380. That's 10% of what the 951's clutch job will probably come in at.

Well jeez we all have so much sympathy that the maintenance on your porsche is going to cost so much.

you are saying it won't go into gear? or it won't go anywhere while in gear?

if it just wont go into gear, it prob isn't your clutch. you will be able to go into gear but you won't go anywhere.

Not quite, the 914 was merely a VW in disguise. And Zenmervolt, I don't think it would hit $3800. It should be less than $2k with parts and labor.

You could change it yourself if you have a hydraulic lift 🙂...

Or some other means of lifting it.

Not worth it considering the hassle of removing/reinstalling the tranny.

Depends on the car. Takes me about an hour to replace the clutch on my car......
I'd rather spend the extra $300 I would pay in labor elsewhere.......
