and ... do CC and BB charge you more on the install if you bring your own speakers/head unit(~if you don't buy it from them but get in online)

Thanks for your help

speakers and headunit installs are REALLY easy, unless you get the wrong size speakers

I've heard nothing but nightmares about getting a system installed at CC.

And you're trusting this to the register jockeys at CC/BB? Sh!t, if you don't care about your car, just give me the damn keys and I'll put it to good use.

There are several custom shops around town, BB and CC are last resorts. Anyway, I just wanted to know about what others are paying for 4 speakers and a headunit install.

what kind of car are you trying to do this to?

you want to make sure you have enough depth under the speakers...cutting out the hole is easy...but if its not deep enough you will be looking at getting/making speaker pods, which can get very pricy

Cutting holes is bad if you don't do some serious planning/thinking/research.

Otherwise I would say do it yourself, it can be fun.

I know a guy in AZ that makes custom machined-aluminum speaker adapters for this car. Depth isn't a problem for the rears but the fronts only have about 2.75 of room before you hit the windows.
