Yeah, but I'd expect one with a fresh rebuild and paint with all those upgrades to go for a little more.
 
A friend of mine bought it for $2k + $900 to get it shipped from Fl.

But he just bought another one (now he has 4 total) that he is planning major mods to.

So he's willing to sell this one at a loss to me.

The car was rebuilt by a couple of audi fanatics. - added rebuild page to OP.
 
I came close to buying a Q45 one time. That was until I checked price for diagnostic repairs and parts prices. :Q Screw that!

Did the same thing many years ago when looking at a Jaguar XJ6. The cost for parts was insane! I buy cars and run 'em til the wheels are square. Fixing "exotic" cars is NOT my idea of fun, and certainly poor bang for the buck.

I have no idea how much parts and repairs cost for older German cars, but I'd find out if I were you!
 
Agreed with Ornery, the parts for older German (and Swedish for Volvo) cars won't be cheap at all, if you factor in labor that'll be even more.

That being said, I'd imagine it's a fun little car and there's no doubt I'd love having it 🙂
 
I just sold 5000 quattro turbo, it wasn't modified or anything like that thing is though.
Rock solid, but as in all audis the electronic systems were generally dieing.
Excellent winter car.
 
Dad had an 85 4000s quattro (non turbo, with the 10 valve 5 cylinder engine). I loved that car. It ran to 240,000 miles, odometer stopped working, and ran for another 5 years or so. I'm not saying that it will be the pinnacle of reliability, but if you're buying it for a second fun car, go for it. The 5 cylinder engine is known to be very robust.

edit in case you didn't know, the 4000 didn't come with a turbo standard, the guy must have added it aftermarket, or from the 5000 (which did have a turbo engine option).

Thanks for the info. I'm willing to accept failing electronics as long as the car runs well.
