The clutch in my Civic seems to be stuck. The car turns on. However, once I engage the clutch it stays down and doesn't pop up unless I manually do it myself. I can't shift into any gears because of this. The car drove fine last night, actually this morning(~2AM). I talked to one of my friends and he says I need to check for leaks. I don't think my car has a hydraulic clutch, so I don't think that applies. Any help would be appreciated.

Its because you are out of fluid in the clutch system, or it has a lot of air bubbles in it.

I'm not sure about 'newer' cars (I'm old school) but it sounds like some kind of return spring may have broke/came loose. Possibly a cable is broke??

I'd virtually guarantee that you have a hydraulic clutch. And would guess your problem to be the master or slave cylinder.

If you are sure its not a hydraulic clutch, sounds more like the pressure plate.

Actually, I think you're right. I'll go check for a leak tomorrow. Thanks
