MY clutch is entirely too loose....

The pressure it takes to push it in is just plain unacceptable. you have to BABY this thing ALL The time. Honestly I don;t stall anymore or anything, but shift changes are a PAIN. YOu have to time it PERFECTLY, or it will jolt>

Could the "jolting be due to damaged engine mounts?

Thanks

How old is the clutch? Damaged motor mounts usually make it difficult to move the shift-lever. What is more likely here is either a slipping clutch or, more likely still, a busted center section that's no longer absorbing shock properly. Possibly a couple of broken springs in the clutch.

Like I said, if you are VERY specific with the amout of throttle you give it, it is fine. QUite a few times, I have been at a light and it will NOT shift into first. I can't even JAM the thing into first.I have to depress and reingage the clutch to get into first.....it is only a 2 second process from relizing that it is stuck again to taking off, but I have quite a few people with loud horns have their way with me

This is very, very similar to what happened to me when the center section of my clutch disintegrated and it started binding on the shaft. Sounds like the clutch is not completely disengaging.
