Thanks to Roger & iamwiz82 from this thread, I pull the code from my 94 Jeep.

Guess what? it is 33, A/C Clutch Relay Circuit.

What is that? does that mean I can still drive my jeep even if the check engine light comes back on?

How do I go about fixing it? I like to do this myself, perhaps I knocked some wires loose when I was changing the oil? :confused:

[EDIT] After disconnecting the battery, I noticed I'm running low on coolant, refilling it, reconnecting the battery, setting off the car alarm, drive around with heat, no more check engine light for now.....

Thanks Roger, I'll need your help with the mysterious rattling sound later. :D

Leave it alone, this is a very common fault, it occurs because of a drop in voltage at terminal number 16 on the ECM wiring harness.
This will not affect the operation of the vehicle in any way, here's what you do ;

With the ignition key removed from the ignition[/b], disconnect the negative battery terminal for 15 minutes, reconnect it, then drive the vehicle in a normal fashion for 20 minutes, do this and report back to me.

Edit;

Somebody owes me twenty bucks ;)

Yes, you can still drive..

But I would still get it fixed when it is convienent to you, because if the engine light comes on for another reason, you won't be able to tell. :p

As for fixing it.. should be easy. Just pop out old relay, pop in new one?

Edit: Heh. as usual, Roger knows best. ;)

Yep. If Roger's fix doesn't become permanent, relay replacement may be called for. They're cheap and easy to do...

Hey Shelly21, when you are done, email me the results, I have to go back to work and probably will not be back here until tomorrow.

No heat indicates no coolant, do not drive the vehicle like this, refill the radiator (DO NOT remove the cap while the engine is hot, you will be scalded), leave the cap off, start the vehicle, let it idle until fully warmed up with the heater control set to hot (No fan), top off radiator, reinstall cap.

I did not want to generate any confusion over this issue, I wanted to make absolutely sure that she understands that is imperative that she does not drive her vehicle without coolant ;)

If, when you're doing this, you're anything like me you may need to let the vehicle run for a long time and continually be topping it off to get rid of all the air. I swear it took me a good hour of idling until I got to the stage where finally I couldn't top it off anymore because until that point every few min the coolant level would keep going down, and I knew it wasn't leaking :p
