When you take you car in to get an oil change, do they still grease the chassis? And, what the hell does that mean? I've got an 01 civic and I just changed my own oil, is there something more I should be doing besides draining the engine oil and changing the oil filter?

Thanks

Generaly it is included, but only if you ask. It takes a while to lube it correctly, and hit everything.

for the most part, every moving part on the chasis/suspension is greaseable. Look for little "nipple" looking protrusions. They hook a grease gun up to this and force out the old greese while putting in the new stuff. If the old stuff is left in, it can pull in contaminants from the road and start eating things. Lube = good.

Heh.

Chasis.

"lube".

As in, "boy, I'd like to 'lube' her 'chasis'".

(of course, in this case, when i say "lube her chasis" I'm not refering to automotive maintenence but rather am making a clever sexual innuedo)

Well, you know...how many of these kids know anything about females, eh? I'd probably still have to explain it to them if I said "I'd like to engage in coitus with her" or something like that.

Most cars no longer have any grease points on the chassis and it has been this way for years.......

Nah. If I pulled that out, Weezergirl might fly off the end of it. She's been stuck down there for awhile now.

True...Unless, you installed after market suspension equipment like I did,

my LCA and APHR does have grease fittings.;)

That's exactly why I'd like to know why so many people here think the dealer's parts are superior to after market. I'd much rather have a grease fitting in a joint, than have it supposedly "permanently lubed".

I'm with you, aftermarket can be far superior (U-joints, Fuel Pumps, Lockers, Motor/Tranny Mounts) those are just a few things that came right up as I read your post that I have installed on my current and past vehicles because of their superiority to ANY manufacturer.
