What can happen in this situation is that air can seep into your oil pan without the gasket. If that happens and the air works it's way to the engine it will expand very quickly and crack the engine block or cylinder head. What you need to do is take it to a mechanic and have them bleed the headers and reset the compression. To be on the safe side I would drive in reverse there or get a tow. The reason that I say reverse is because in reverse the cam shaft spins backward thus relieving the presure on the block. It also causes the oil to run backward thru the filter which lessens the chance of air getting in.
