YACT: Can You Add Power Locks/Windows to a Car That Doesn't Have Them Originally?

I'm looking to pick up a Civic to use for my commute and I ran across one at a local dealership that pretty much suits my needs. The main drawback for me is that it doesn't have power amenities and that's something I kinda wanted to have. My thread title pretty much says it all...can you add those things in later?

Thanks in advance to all who reply!

Some of the newer cars have the brackets and wires installed already. You might be able to go to a junkyard and pick up the motors and switchs (probably still not cheaply) for a fraction what it would cost elsewhere.

Find a Civic in a junk yard that has power locks, rip out all of the components, and install them in your car 🙂 This can be done for locks, windows, or mirrors...or just about any other options (cruise, etc)

my mom did this with her accord. not power windows, but power locks. she added an alarm system and they added power locks.

I did the locks on my accord as well. Aftermarket motors but added in factory switches as well.

my camaro windows go up too slowly... my old tbird used to take about 2 seconds (seriously) for both the driver and passenger windows to go up at the same time. I want my Camaro to do that.. How do I go about modding?

Are your arms so short you can't reach over and roll the window up and down on the passenger side manually 🙂? I guess if its a 4 door it would be nice to have the power crap but on a 2 door I wouldn't waste my time.

If your lazy then leave it a lone. Every tried working on the inside of a car door? Its tight, full of sharp edges, and everything is a pain in the butt to get too. One bigger cars it isn't that bad but I bet the civic's doors are not much fun. BTW is it a 4 door?

You want a car with power windows and locks?
Then find one with what you want. With all these low APRs on new cars, there should be no shortage of used cars.
It will be a lot cheaper than buying a basic car and then reequipping it. If you aren't happy with the car as it is, don't buy it.
Some people buy auto Maximas and then pay 2K to swap the transmission for a 5 speed or something. It's lame. Just sell your car, and buy one with manual tranny.
