test drove RSX Type-S, TSX and a Nissan Maxima SE 04's and came away loving the TSX. The Maxima was as powerful as advertised but the interior (cloth) was plain ugly compared to the TSX and barely cheaper while the RSX was too stiff of a ride for me.

6 speed MT, Pearl White exterior, Parchment Leather interior, w/o Navigation link

The car fits my price range under $27k and meets all my criteria, plus it was a blast to drive. I noticed that the Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT starts at 30k, is it worth test driving one even though I couldn't get any of the packages or options on the base model? I'm wary of stretching my price range, but I want to avoid any buyer's remorse.

*updated*

Purchased it, here's a pic

Sweet!!! The G35 will feel a lot faster since it does have a lot more torque. They're competing cars but they have different personalities. The TSX has more of a boy-racer appeal whereas the G35 tries to be more like a BMW or IS300. TSX will most likely handle better and I believe it is a smaller car as well. Be warned tho, don't overextend yourself. If you really feel you want a G35 just save a few more months:)

i know its a tad bit over the $30k range, but have you looked into or considered the 2004 Acura TL ? i saw one at the car show this past saturday and was thoroughly impressed. if you are curious, click here

edit: btw, the TSX is a lovely car. i see them on the road and love the design and performance of them also.

looked at the TL in the dealership and it has sweet body styling and performance from the looks, but I'm guessing the interior is nearly the same as the TSX and its $6k more.

Not totally the same. THe center stack is LOADED with many more buttons and controls than the TSX :) I'd take the TSX though :D

I'll be that a RWD G35 handles better than a TSX with twice as much weight on the front wheels as the back. $3000 is the price of.. two computers.

Handling is very subjective, but I'm certain the TSX is a much more nimble car than the G35

TSX, good choice! TL is a little too "old" looking for a 22 year old. I am a 22 year old myself and just purchased a 2004 Accord Coupe V6. Don't forget the enthusiast sites, acura-tsx.com and clubtsx.com

Very nice car... my girlfriend just bought one back in September 03 (Silver/Ebony) and I think it was a great move.

Also, good move in getting the 6MT as the automatic makes the car chug. She's got the auto and driving hard is kind of tough considering its paltry 166tq. Its a very nimble car and very easy and fun to drive and its bigger inside than I expected. I drive an 02 Audi A4 3.0q and its noticably more spacious inside than my car, it also "feels" much lighter than my car when driving.

I'd at least go test drive the G35, although personally, I dont care for the looks much... but that engine is sweet. I test drove a 350z not too long ago when i was thinking of switching cars and I must say that its a very very fun to drive car. That said, if your looking for a small, nimble, easy to maintain, cheap, and very nice looking car, the TSX is hard to beat.

Good Luck on the new car and congrats!!

Impressive. What did you study?

I wouldn't go as far as to say that the TSX handles better than a G35. I'm sure it's close. I personally would go for the TSX over the TL as the TL suffers from massive torque steer. Congrats and enjoy.

did computer science for BS and MS. while the job market isn't as good as it was when I started school, there's still lots of oppurtunities for jobs.
