It's not going to make the car ricey, it's similar to what would come stock on the car if one had chosen to add the spoiler option when purchasing. It's purely cosmetic, but it's not my car and not really my decision.

Anyways, for a 02 Toyota Celica, what should it cost approx to buy the spoiler/paint/mount? I'm guessing asking the dealership would be the most expensive route. Is there a place where spoilers are a little cheaper? Where would be the best place to get it mounted?

TRD makes a lip spoiler, painted factory color for about 300 dollars. It looks pretty good for what it is. It's mounted on by double sided tape. :D

it's a birthday present for someone that wanted the spoiler but couldn't afford it when they purchased the car. Is that such a bad thing?

no more than 150 for aftermarket + 120 to paint + 30 for mounting hardware (those are on the high side)

no more than 350 for stock (oem)

The honda dealership where we purchased our Prelude at wanted to charge us 800 dollars for a factory spoiler. Told them to keep their damn spoiler and went to another Honda dealership and got the same OEM Spoiler for $199 painted & installed.

It's not, don't mind the thread crapping ATers. Some of them have their own messed up knee jerk views.

I will say the TRD spoiler is overpriced for what it is, a plastic trunk lip painted factory body color. But it's also the only product of it's kind.

Have you considered getting something like a MP3 headunit also?

The person isn't the best driver around, we'd probably kill them with our kindness if we bought something like a deck or system which would distract easily.
