Why don't car salesmen give straight answers? My head hurts. I just want to buy the damn thing already! Just give me the lowest price. Hehehe.

I'm buying the Subaru 2.5i Sport Wagon. I took it out for a drive and this is a nice car for the money. 173hp w/AWD. Sweet.:)

BTW: Getting it in Dark Steel Gray.

If the salesman is dicking around with the price (they all do), just buy it used (from an individual) or go to another dealer. Never be afraid to walk.

Let your fingers do the walking. Call all the Subaru dealers in the area and tell them the price you were quoted, and see if they can do better. My fiancee was able to knock another 2-3K off the price of her IS300 by doing this.

Well I got a lower internet quote from another dealer, so I told him if he doesn't match it I'll just go to them.
The other guy is quite far and I'm transfering my plates, which makes it tough. I will have to do a sight-unseen trade in.

Right now the guy is "talking to his manager"

This car is brand new, I won't get it much less. Subaru has a big markup here in New England. The price difference was $700 though.

The rapage is going to be what they rip you off for the trade-in. If you're so damn worried about money, you'll sell it yourself!

Yep, and I did, just a few minutes ago. Total $18,835 after trade in, taxes, etc.:D

Now what kind of accessories should I get? The salesman is saying that they would charge me labor to put on the basic stuff like bumper guards , which sounds like BS to me. Should I get alloy wheel locks? They're only $24.

only if theyre aftermarket wheels... no one wants to steal stock rims

Nice, what color did you get? (oh yeah... pics!)

It's not a Honda/Acura and they're not expensive aftermarket rims, so you're pretty safe.

Parts-wise, I wouldn't buy any parts now. They occasionally send home service-special flyers on which there's a 10-20% discount. I'd wait til then, and the install should be pretty easy to do yourself.
