YACT: *** Bought 2004 Honda CR-V EX!!!*** Now with pics!!!

It looks car based, is truck based, yet sucks for modding into an actual offroad vehicle. What's its purpose? It does look pretty nice though.

Basically it will be used for my wife to get to work plus to have ample space for our son who doesn't have any room for a car seat in her 2001 Saturn SC2. No offroading needed, thank you 🙂 Considering ATOT hasn't sad a bad word about the SUV, I feel pretty good about it 🙂

Why not just get a Honda CRV or Ford Escape or Toyota Rav 4 if you are not going offroading? Better reliability (most likely) and better on road handling I would think.

Suzuki Grand Vitara,
That car is fassssssst compared to the CR-V and the Rav4

Liberty i kinda like but depending on price, if it's in the same category as a Pilot or something. Definitely get the Pilot

Will look into those, thanks.

$20,000. Pilot is in a different league.

Why not looking into station wagons or a minivan? Isn't the Kia Sedona pretty cheap and decent?

For a SUV that size, the Liberty gets HORRIBLE gas milage...

I think a CRV or RAV4 would fit you much better... better re-sale value, better reliablility, better gas milage... You are just going to drive it around town anyways, so power is that big of an issue...

That is correct, Liberty gets 16/20, NOT GOOD. CR-V and RAV4 have 22/26, MUCH better. I think on this fact alone, I will stay away from Liberty. I'm really liking the Honda. If there are other SUVs like these two (CR-V and RAV4), let me know.

My lil brother has one. When going down the road with the windows partially down the rear window reverberates(both noise and a lot of pressure) throughout the car, loud enough to hurt your ears. May just be his though.

Rav4 compared to the CR-V is really cramped. I mean seriously cramped.
My brother has the 99 CR-V and overall it's a great vehicle. I think the 99 has 146hp and 1xx torque. Can't complain it goes, it's reliable, decent gas mileage.

Look at an Oddesey or Sienna much more space for kids and friends. Liberty is very small inside. CR-V better for long term use and value IMO. Small SUVs are just Poser SUVs anyhow😛

I rented a Liberty for a couple weeks while my car was in the shop this summer. I thought it was cute and comfortable; my only complaint was it had terrible pickup.

Have you considered the Hyundai Santa Fe? I rode in one of those once. It was pretty comfy.

(I would normally never reply to a YACT but since this SUV is for your wife I thought some female input would be useful😛)

Agreed.

The interior of the RAV4 is quite small compared to the CRV (esp the backseats)... And when you add up the options the RAV4 can get quite expensive very quickly...

I would go with the CRV out of those 2...

Im happy with 10-12. Wow.

The more I'm reading about CR-V, the more I'm leaning towards it. Thank goodness for ATOT, looks like I would definitely have buyer's remorse with Jeep Liberty 🙂 Shouldn't be too hard to convince wife to go with the Honda 🙂
